Josh Hutcherson is very much vertically challenged. Jennifer Lawrence, his love interest in The Hunger Games series is even taller than him by a couple of inches! But what he lacks in his height he makes up for his communication skills. He's a good conversationalist and he's very articulate with his words. You would never be bored with his interviews. It's because of this talent that he can deliver his lines so well and thus, the good acting. That's how he earned his role as Peeta Mellark for the movie franchise. Sure, there are lots of other actors (especially the tall, much good-looking ones) who went to audition, but he beat them all. So guys, never judge a person by his height but by the things he can do.
